Every trail is a new adventure. I went out on a whim with this one as I wasn’t sure Centerville had much to offer. I was taken by surprise with rock climbing, a creek throughout, and even a rope swing (chain swing?!). The rock climbing appeared near the beginning of the trail and was a thrill that I had not yet experienced on Utah trails. There were some very narrow segments, with steep declines, that were challenging. Given the time of year there was some snow, ice, and mud near the end, not that I know where that is. I ended up turning back around mile two after being approached by a dog that was far more excited to see me than I was to see him.
The absolute, hands down, best part of this trail was the swing. There was a tree with a chain tied to it. At the end of the chain was a tube that you could jump onto and swing from. I don’t know how it got there, or how secure it is, but swinging on it was a risk I was willing to take! You only live once, right? Check out the clip below for my ride on the swing as well as some drone footage taken during the hike.
This hike was one of the best hikes I have been on yet, mainly because of the swing. I hope to get the opportunity to experience this hike again, in the spring, to add some color to the pictures as well as see the waterfall at the end.
