After six to eight inches of fresh snow this trail was like a winter wonderland. There were children sledding near the entrance, drones flying, and believe it or not women stumbling out of the trailhead in heels! I was second-guessing my shoe selection until witnessing the women in heels. My Nobull runners did the job but were nowhere near the ideal shoe for the hike. Given the recent snow a pair of waterproof hiking boots or a comfortable snow boot where probably a better choice.
I have yet to do this hike in the summer but will definitely plan on doing just that in the near future. As for the winter hike; I don’t know that you can top the beauty, as there were breathtaking shots to be had from every angle. Unfortunately, like most “waterfall” trails I have visited this winter, I was unable to identify the waterfall feature.
After lugging my drone though the forest I figured the “waterfall” would be the perfect place to launch and capture some amazing footage. Although it probably was, and did look amazing in the controller screen, I forgot to press record. This was even more disappointing after slicing my hand on the piercing blades of the drone trying to push the power off button. This was a rookie mistake; I should have known I wasn’t going to get my hand in-between the blades to the power button. Nonetheless I placed my glove back on my hand and pushed on! Apologies to the bystanders that witnessed the drone attack! Although I do not have any footage from the drone I was able to capture some footage from the Karma Grip. I am very impressed with how smooth this footage turned out. The Karma Grip was able to stabilize the camera to minimize the shakiness from walking.
SNACKS: Believe it or not “Snack Pack” forgot the snacks!
